More Lies from Dick Cheney
"Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the Senate most Tuesdays when they're in session."
-- Dick Cheney, during the VP Debate
As it turns out, Mr. Cheney has only presided over the Senate TWICE in the last 4 years. During his absences, an acting President of the Senate is chosen. And guess what? Sen. Edwards has been chosen as the presiding officer of the Senate also TWICE during those same 4 years. Edwards has done Cheney's duty just as often as Cheney has. But he tells the American People that he's been doing it all along.
During 2002, 2003 and 2004 it appears that Dick Cheney never fulfilled his duties as President of the Senate. Maybe he "had better things to do." That's the reason he gave for avoiding military service during Vietnam, and getting multiple deferrments. He had better things to do then, and he had better things to do now, although on TV he claims he was doing his duty in the Senate. I guess telling a senator to F*CK OFF on the Senate Floor is what he considers doing his duty for 4 years!!!
