CIA Chief Bush Appointed Admits “Torture Does Not Work” So Why Are Cheney and Bush Insisting CIA Be Allowed to Torture? For Fun?
CIA Chief Porter Goss who was appointed by President Bush has formally admitted “Torture does not work.” So why are Dick Cheney and George W. Bush insisting that Congress allow the CIA to torture people? For fun? If it doesn’t work, why in the world would we do it? Former CIA chiefs and other Intelligence Officers agree that torture only gets the subject to tell you what they think you want to hear in order to make you stop. It’s great for coercing false statements, but lousy for revealing true intelligence. Military experts including Colin Powell as well as Republicans in Congress who have actually served in the military agree that the US allowing torture will lead to our enemies torturing US troops and using our allowing torture as an excuse. In spite of the danger allowing torture presents future US military servicemembers, Vice President Cheney and President Bush have demanded that Congress allow the CIA to torture. I repeat CIA Chief Porter Goss who was appointed by President Bush has formally admitted “Torture does not work” and all the other experts agree. Why would we allow an immoral act that does not work, that destroys our country’s reputation and endangers our troops? Ask Bush and Cheney!
